Pray that, for the glory of God and in the pursuit of His justice, I may be able in argument, accurate in analysis, keen in study, correct in conclusion, loyal to clients, honest with all, courteous to adversaries, trustworthy with confidences, courageous in court. Sit with me at my desk and listen with me to my clients' tales. Read with me in my library and stand always beside me so that today I shall not, to win a point, lose my soul.

Dear Scholar and Martyr, it was not the King of England but you who were the true Defender of the Faith. Like Christ unjustly condemned, neither promises nor threats could make you accept a civil ruler as head of the Christian Church.
Perfect in your honesty and love of truth, grant that lawyers and judges may imitate you and achieve true justice for all people. AMEN.

It's a joke in Detroit.
Cleveland is a joke in Cleveland.
The question is whether Detroit considers itself a joke. I think probably not.
Which, on the basis of self-awareness, gives Cleveland the leg up (though not by much) as far as I'm concerned.
Plus, Detroit named its baseball park after a crappy bank intent on throwing people out of work. Of course, Cleveland has renamed its baseball stadium after a left-leaning insurance company. But just on the basis of the "compassion" component in naming rights, Cleveland gets the nod.
Detroit might not consider itself a joke but the suburbs see it as such. I've not been to Cleveland's downtown so I can't compare it, but Detroiters only go downtown when the have a reason to, not to "see what's going on".
Have you heard anything about the Detroit Mayor scandal recently? It's a huge mess and not helping either. I'm happy to have been from the Detroit area, but I've moved away and plan to stay away.
Can't we just sell Detroit to Canada?
