GOP Congressman Calls Democrats Anti-Christian

From today's Washington Post:

Business on the floor of the House was halted for 45 minutes yesterday after Rep. John N. Hostettler (R-Ind.) accused Democrats of "denigrating and demonizing Christians," prompting a furious protest from across the aisle.

The House was debating a Democratic amendment to the annual defense appropriations bill that would have required the Air Force Academy to develop a plan for preventing "coercive and abusive religious proselytizing."

Hostettler, speaking against the amendment, asserted that "the long war on Christianity in America continues today on the floor of the House of Representatives" and "continues unabated with aid and comfort to those who would eradicate any vestige of our Christian heritage being supplied by the usual suspects, the Democrats."

"Like a moth to a flame, Democrats can't help themselves when it comes to denigrating and demonizing Christians,"
he said.

(emphasis added)
My Comments:
When Democrats start squealing like stuck pigs, you know that the truth about their anti-Christian agenda has hit close to home.

I wish I had written what Rep. Hostetler said yesterday on the floor of the House of Representatives.

The Dems need to be called to task publicly. The hard part is getting the MSM to cooperate. Did you notice the last paragraph of that article? A totally irrelevant comment about Hostettler, designed to do nothing but marginalize him.

When the Post reports on Teddy boy, they don't feel compelled to note that he drove his car off a bridge and left a young girl to die while he placed an emergency call, not for her assistance, but for legal and political damage control.

Same with John Kerry, etc.

"Anti-Christian agenda" - what nonsense. President Bush and his party control the federal government, Sean Hannity and his ilk control the airwaves, and Christian men control the boardrooms of every major coporation in this country.

Yeah, we poor, poor Christians -- we're so persecuted! Why, oh why, do "they" hound us so?

What does ANY of that have to do with the agenda of the Democrat Party?

Can you say "nonsequitur"?

Jay, you didn't read the good Congressman's quote, did you?

Anonymous,

Louis took issue with my (not the Congressman's) description of the Democrat gameplan as an "anti-Christian agenda", but then went on to talk about how Bush & Company run everything.

As if that somehow means the Democrats don't have an anti-Christian agenda just because they're having a little trouble implementing it via the democratic process. Or that just because Sean Hannity is on the airwaves, the New York Times isn’t regularly attacking the Christian faith.

His comments also ignored the fact that the Democrats and their propaganda arm, the Times, have the judiciary to regularly ride to their rescue and implement their agenda outside the democratic process.
